Alternative Grüne Woche: Soup & Talk - The virtual Food and Farming Slam
Soup & Talk 2022

Everyone is talking about “transforming our food systems”. These folks have started already, and they’ll introduce themselves in five minutes: The incredibly tenacious and successful Indian farmers, an organic cooperative in Capetown, sheep in the vineyard, urban radishes in besieged Hong Kong, farm workers in Europe, hip-hop against junk food in schools, a young farmers syndicate in Thuringia, 1.2 million signatures and an atlas against pesticides in Europe, resistance against genetically modified corn in Mexico, Food in my Kiez in Berlin, resilient gardeners in Syria, regenerative carbon cowboys in the USA, and, and, and….

Before the pandemic, “Soup & Talk” was the grand and warming finale of the annual “We’re fed up” demonstration at the Green Week in Berlin. Together with the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the European think tank ARC2020, we are organizing the 5-Minute Food and Farming Slam for the seventh time now. Since Corona forced us onto the internet, we have become truly international.

Three hours fly by thanks to the short and crisp presentations on the Zoom stage with simultaneous German / English translation. Thereafter you can ask questions and network with the presenters in small breakout rooms. Soup & Talk does not stand for “one should, one could, one would, we demand…” but for “we make, we do, we create” and sometimes also “we failed spectacularly”. Starting a year promising real change for Germany’s agriculture and food, we are especially eager to hear new stories from the global village of food transition.

Please stop by and get inspired and please bring the whole family! Click here to register.

See You there
