Opening up new Global Fields
New Global Fields are opening their doors again this year and the Global Field movement continues to grow. On April 26, the team in Dortmund invites you to the official opening, but new projects are also starting in Hanover and Essen.
Global Field in Dortmund invites you

A 2000 m² Global Field is currently being built in Dortmund. The team has been working diligently for months and is preparing for the opening. With lots of ideas in their luggage and great anticipation of spring, the Dortmund Food Council team cordially invites everyone to celebrate this opening together.
When? Sunday, 26.04.2026, from 2 p.m.
Where? Global Field Dortmund (Schultenhof, Stockumer Str. 109, 44225 Dortmund)
In addition to various small hands-on activities, there will be a guided tour of the fields and space for discussion. More information here.
Hanover, food and more
But it is not only in Dortmund that a new Global Field will be launched. A new educational site has also been open in Hanover since April and a small 200 square meter Global Field will be created in Gruga Park in Essen. Further Global Fields could soon open in Emscherland and a pilot area will be created in Freising this year, putting the dedicated team on the road to a real Global Field.
Other initiatives in Germany are starting their planning, so hopefully more and more Global Field educational sites will open in the coming years. Things are also continuing abroad: in Groningen, in the Netherlands, two Global Fields are starting their first full season. Further initiatives in Europe, China, India, Canada and Namibia could soon join the global movement – we will keep you up to date here.
