Vegetables
A healthy diet is not possible without vegetables: the enormous variety contains important nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, but also high-quality forms of sugar, carbohydrates and fibre. Overall, the percentage of agricultural land where vegetables, the ‘royal class’ of our diet, are grown, is only around four percent. Every vegetable has its season. Out of season, they either come from far away, from greenhouses or from the freezer. Seasonal vegetables not only taste better, they are also more environmentally friendly and usually healthier.
